I imagine so as it affected Orpington and Bexley last time because they fell under London Borough

HaveANiceFuckingDay · 09/12/2020 18:09

And tier 3 would mean the 5 days relaxation over Christmas goes out the window doesn’t it ?
(Hope so , don’t want to see any family anytime soon )

If your council is a London council, then yes.

Rosehip10 · 09/12/2020 18:10

Yes Romford area has been a London Borough since 1965.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 09/12/2020 18:11

Christmas break isn't connected to tiers.

FindHungrySamurai · 09/12/2020 18:13

The Essex and Kent borders of London are pretty much the worst affected.

ILookAtTheFloor · 09/12/2020 18:13

Yes Havering is a London Borough.

Quite likely Essex will join you in tier 3 too 😵 so may be a moot point.

FindHungrySamurai · 09/12/2020 18:14

But no the Christmas bubble applies to all tiers so it wouldn’t legally affect your Christmas plans.

Denthelp · 09/12/2020 18:16

Are you Havering? Although it has Essex in the address it is still a London Borough. And the worst one for Covid at that. So most definitely.

HaveANiceFuckingDay · 09/12/2020 18:17

Thanks all
@ILookAtTheFloor ..I thought it was just Basildon that just had rising numbers not the rest of it , but I suppose if one part of Essex needs to go into tier 3 then ALL of it has to ... seems unfair
Havering has the highest rising cases in London apparently 🤔.. seems a shame cos of Havering the whole of London has to follow even though I don’t class anywhere in Havering as London

OP posts:
HaveANiceFuckingDay · 09/12/2020 18:17

Yes @Denthelp I’m Havering

Map: purple is the worst, then dark blue, light blue, green, yellow and white as the best.

No. Tiers don’t apply at Xmas.
Denthelp · 09/12/2020 18:19

@AcornAutumn has that definitely been confirmed. Seems a bit pointless to change tiers just before Christmas if it is.

HaveANiceFuckingDay · 09/12/2020 18:21

I literally go no where apart from shopping and work ( just gone back after lockdown 2 as well, non essential field )
I haven’t seen my mother since about feb time and my sisters I think since before last Christmas. All very local .
My grandson visits as he’s in our bubble ( parents have split and they share custody )
Blimmin hell
I haven’t seen friends since feb either

@FindHungrySamarai
Bloody hell Romford is through the roof according to that map!

Boohooyouho · 09/12/2020 18:27

Yep. I’m in havering too. Into tier 3 we go.

RMRM · 09/12/2020 18:27

I'm Havering too and yes, I expect we will go into Tier 3. I would be surprised if we don't, but I'm not sure how the hospitals are holding up, which I believe informs the decision.

Sallycinnamum · 09/12/2020 18:33

I'm in Havering too. Half the secondary schools have whole year groups at home and it wouldn't surprise me if they shut on Friday.

However, from what I've read locally the hospitals are not overwhelmed yet.

I'm not surprised seeing as Romford was absolutely heaving at the weekend.

So when we were free in summer, you didn’t see them?
RMRM · 09/12/2020 18:54

I think, having seen the letter from Havering Council, they would like to shut the schools on Friday, but are bound by the government.

Denthelp · 09/12/2020 18:56

@RMRM I haven’t seen the letters but have seen posts mentioning them on Facebook (we live close to there) and I thought they said the schools could decide to shut early at HT discretion?

cinammonbuns · 09/12/2020 18:59

Yes Havering is in London.
