Isolation for subsequent cases in a household

HallFloor · 09/12/2020 16:22

So, I started symptoms on Sunday 6th and have had a positive test today. I isolate until 15th and the rest of the household until 19th.

If one of them get symptoms between now and then, is the isolation period for the others extended to 14 days from the start of their symptoms?

Presumably not for me?

I think it is extended for 10 days from when they develop symptoms

Someonesayroadtrip · 09/12/2020 16:26

Yes extended 10 day since symptoms. Which means they could be shorter or longer than their original time. You don't isolate again I don't think.

HallFloor · 09/12/2020 16:26

Yes, for the person with the symptoms but what about the others?

No, anyone developing symptoms isolated for 10 days from the start of their symptoms but everyone else just has to complete their initial 14 days according to the isolation graphic issued by the govt

That's good news.

Poor DS1 only got 1 day back at work (after someone at work tested positive) before having to isolate again because of me.
