Flu jab & positive test

I’m part of a study having regular Covid tests & I took one on Saturday when I got my test in the post. I’ve got no covid symptoms, the only slight niggle at the mo is a minor cold. Bit congested but I’ve got two young kids, it’s rare I don’t have some form of cold in winter! So I’ve been living as normal including getting my long overdue flu jab this morning.

To my surprise, I've just had a text to say my test has come back positive! I now feel really guilty for the poor pharmacist who injected me 😫 but I was with her for a max of 5 minutes of not less with masks, so I’m hoping that’s OK for her!

But I’m now feeling a bit anxious I’ve got covid & I’ve also shoved a flu vaccine in my body as well I’m low risk & so far, I’m asymptomatic bar the slight cold that started on Sunday. That I now assume is Covid. I’m not a worrier about covid at all really. But will I be OK with the flu jab as well?! I know no-ones got a crystal ball but any medical proffs recon it’d cause anything I need to look out for?!

When you have a flu vaccine, they do not inject you with the live virus so it isn't as if you have Covid and flu at the same time.

Unlikely you passed it on but it’s possible so you could get gone up the pharmacy to warn them. I wouldn’t worry about having had the flu vaccine as pp said it’s not a live vaccine.

I went to pick my lateral flow tests up at work 2 weeks ago on the first day of nhs testing. Had my flu jab at the same time as offered.
Got home, did the first test.... positive.

I didn't have any problems. In fact I didn't get any covid symptoms other than loss of smell about 24 hours later. Remained totally well. My isolation is all over now.

Cheers guys - I am reassured! Still just feeling congested & tired. But I have two young children who hate sleep so I’m never not exhausted 🥴

I’ve rung the pharmacy, they said they’ll double check if they need to take any action.

I think the gov messaging isnt very clear.

Covid is a cold almost all otjer countries are testing for these symtpkms
