When you can get it. I know a few people in the vulnerable/shielding/underlying health problems or carer categories who have been really careful but also say they won’t have it and I’d be interested to hear from others. No judgment either way to be clear.

Of course.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 08/12/2020 19:46

Yes, I've rolled my sleeve up already.

I don't know when I'll be offered it, but it can't come too soon!

Our Govt might be incompetent, but I trust the MHRA.

PanamaPattie · 08/12/2020 19:54

Yes of course. It would be very foolish to say no.

SandysMam · 08/12/2020 20:00

Yes. My consultant who I trust immensely (with my life) has is very academic and has studied it extensively. They recommend I have it, so I will!!

Ridcully82 · 08/12/2020 20:02

On shielding list: As soon as I get the letter saying it's my turn I'll be running out the door whilst rolling my sleeve up😁🤪

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 08/12/2020 20:11

Yes of course

The thing is we need people who aren't vulnerable to get it too. And judging from the complete lack of understanding on the science behind vaccines that I've witnessed on this board, I'm not convinced enough will.

MoMuntervary · 08/12/2020 20:15

Absolutely. Still got a while to wait but I'll be so happy to return to some sort of normality.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 08/12/2020 20:17

Of course. I cannot wait to get it.

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 08/12/2020 20:19

Yes. I'm in the shielding group.

sparticuscaticus · 08/12/2020 20:47

Yes- absolutely will be getting vaccine when offered- am in shielding group

Looking forward to a life past my front door again (although will still take careful precautions/ follow rules).

FourTeaFallOut · 08/12/2020 20:52

Yes, I'm shielding and I can't wait to get the vaccine. I'm so keen to get back out into the world.

Summerflowers101 · 08/12/2020 20:54

100%. Not just for my benefit but for the whole of society.

MotherExtraordinaire · 08/12/2020 20:57

No. I wont be. My mum has changed her mind and I'm concerned tbh.

Not a popular opinion , but it's mine....

Mindymomo · 08/12/2020 20:59

I don’t know anyone who doesn’t want to have the vaccine. We are shielding and our 2 adult DS’s are being so careful around us, hopefully when we get the vaccine, they won’t need to worry as much.

reginafelangee · 08/12/2020 21:00

Of course as soon as they will let me have it.

I want my life back.

OpheliasCrayon · 08/12/2020 21:04

No I won't be. Im on the shielding list since the start but haven't shielded. Have worked in school throughout.
I've had covid and it was milder than my husband who isn't vulnerable.

I would have it but I have extreme reactions to the vast majority of medications I have to take, and some vaccinations as well. I've been hospitalized for several, for one I've been told that if I took a similar drug again it would be fatal (and almost took one actually the other day but thankfully double checked the info leaflet and realised otherwise I wouldn't be writing this now ...)... 4 of my reactions have been totally unheard of and the hospital has had to report them to the drug companies.

So, on balance, a new vaccine and another potential dangerous (and I really can't emphasis enough how dangerous my reactions are) reaction... Or covid...which I've had and was less than a cold for me.

8MinutesToSunrise · 08/12/2020 21:06

For sure

SisterMichael · 08/12/2020 21:10

Shock Ophelia hope you are ok now.

Shock Ophelia hope you are ok now.
My life is a drama honestly! But covid was extremely minimal! My husband felt worse than I did. This was back in March
OpheliasCrayon · 08/12/2020 21:14

I just hope that if anywhere does request that people are vaccinated (I honestly can't see how they could do the "vaccination passport" I hear mentioned but...you never know ) then my proof of why I couldn't be would suffice. Any of my doctors would provide me with evidence why I can't have it. I mean I can't take any drugs to treat the illnesses I have and am now facing major surgeries because I've no treatments that anyone would risk left.... So I hope that I won't be penalized for this...

TheSunIsStillShining · 08/12/2020 21:28

I'll wait for some other approvals and verdicts. The pfizer one: almost 100%. Astrazeneca: not so keen, but yes. Sputnik/chinese: when hell freezes over.

user1471453601 · 08/12/2020 21:31

I'll get it as soon as it's offered. Im 70 and got the cev letter two days before the most recent lock down ended. It didn't make much difference to me, as my family and I have been acting like I was cev anyway.

I just wish my DD or her partner, could also get it at the same time. They are both over 50, and, by and large, are my unpaid carers. If they get ill, I'm screwed, whether or not I've been vaccinated. I'm not frail enough to go into care, but too frail to live alone.

I won't be comfortable until at least 75% of us are vaccinated. Even then, it will be a case of fingers crossed, rather than comfortable.

3littlewords · 08/12/2020 21:57

My FIL is ECV he is vehemently against any covid or flu vaccine, he thinks covid is a huge con and the government make up the daily case and death figures to manipulate us, yet he has shielded strictly since March (literally hasn't been past the front gate) and given up his employment in the process Confused the mind boggles Hmm

Zem74 · 08/12/2020 22:00

I’m CEV never actually shielded as I have 2 small children at home.
I won’t be taking the vaccine on first offerings, I think it’s too early and will want to wait and see if there are any long term effects from it. I am still very young, consider myself relatively healthy, and may want another child in the next few years and that really puts me off having a vaccine that is still so new and unknown.

KittenCalledBob · 08/12/2020 22:02

My parents are high risk - they can't wait to get it.
