If you are high-risk / have been shielding / have health problems - will you be getting the vaccine?

When you can get it. I know a few people in the vulnerable/shielding/underlying health problems or carer categories who have been really careful but also say they won’t have it and I’d be interested to hear from others. No judgment either way to be clear.

Maybe I'm naïve (and I'll be the first to admit I'm not at all scientifically minded) but this vaccine hasn't just been pulled from someone's backside in 2020. They have started on all kinds of Covid-strain vaccines over the years (including for the SARs-2 outbreak a few years ago) but never finished them because the demand wasn't there.

But the research done then means that the Covid-19 vaccine has already (and always was) 'half done'. All they've done this year is refine the virus strain and conclude the human trials.

I still see so many people saying 'But it's too new...' No, it isn't 'new', it's just a variation of something that was already well in the pipeline.

I'll be having the vaccine when I'm offered it, and so will all of my family (including my father who has advanced kidney failure). Unless you have a recognised allergy to a component of the vaccine, accepting it when offered seems a no-brainer?
