Not sure whether to get a test?

Hi, so I've been feeling a bit off the last few days, but I had a horrific hangover Blush Sunday morning, so assumed it was partially that. I could taste food but things tasted a bit 'off' and I've still got this weird after-taste in my mouth.

Have also got:
A slight cough, though not sure if it'd be classed as continuous as go hours without anything
Headache behind eyes (again on and off)
Slight fatigue, though nothing abnormal
Tickly throat
Slightly warm to touch, but not a fever or temp as far as I can tell.
My eyes feel sensitive/slightly watery

I entered my symptoms into Zoe but they didn't recommend a test.

I really hope I'm being paranoid as it's been a shit year and Christmas was one of the few things I was looking forward to. I've been careful throughout but have a housemate who is an absolute liability so it's possible. I have no major health concerns but would still like to have avoided it if possible.

Is this worth testing for or not? I'm hoping I'm just paranoid and feeling a bit off. The closer we get to Christmas the more concerned I get. 😔

Go and get a test.

Yes, I would get tested. Are you having more than three episodes of coughing per day? If so, that's classed as a continuous cough. That plus the altered sense of taste mean you should test.

yeOldeTrout · 08/12/2020 17:28

Your only qualifying symptom is the cough.
Yes I am very literal about this. The rest is incidental.
Slight coughs can be persistent.
Does it seem persistent?

Definitely get one

Thanks everyone. I've booked a test - managed to get one in walking distance so that's good. Fingers crossed for negative - hopefully it'll put my mind at rest.

Did you get your results? X

Flowersinthewindowstill · 10/12/2020 09:40

Yes, in less than 24 hours - negative, thankfully Smile

It’s so easy to get a test now that you might as well get tested. I took dd on Monday and results were back Tuesday morning, was really easy to book a test. Dd has been tested twice now and I have been tested once.

Rassy · 10/12/2020 11:05

DD had test on Monday morning at 9.30am and result (negative) back at 9pm
