Who’s getting the vaccine tomorrow?

If you’re getting the vaccine tomorrow do you know about it already?

My over-80 dad has an outpatient appointment at a fairly big hospital tomorrow. Will he get it, or would he have been told, or do I just have to be patient?

This is a quote from the BBC NI site:

“The people whose job it is to deliver the vaccine are top of the priority queue.
Residents in care homes for older adults and their staff are next in line and this will happen before Christmas.
Then, it will be the turn of everyone who is aged 80 and over and mobile, as well as front-line health and social care workers.”

Just to cite my sources!

satnight - nothing negative, just a touch of reality that it’s going to take a long time to get sufficient supplies of the vaccine.

The production for the world’s population is hard to imagine.

It's obvious a timing issue, you posted what looks like a days old story after vaccination of the public had started in England.

As we've found many times on these threads rightly or wrongly if you're posting about a region other than England it saves confusion if that's clear.

This isn't the place to debate that old chestnut though Smile

This was on our local news site

But I'm in England so it doesn't show the other parts of the country, and you need to click on it to see everything

So, to put my question another way, when the lady in Coventry turned up at the hospital this morning, did she know she was getting vaccinated or did she get a nice surprise because she was there for something else?

I'm pretty sue she knew already, she wasn't ambushed with TV crews and live streaming of her private medical treatment before breakfast Grin

I could be wrong there were definitely people yesterday who knew they were getting it today.

I'm getting vaccine tomorrow. Scotland based. Primary care role. Most of my team have appointments as well

In the press conference Johnson did talk of those in the first priority groups who were either hospital inpatients, or due to attend hospitals that were running vaccination clinics were likely to be invited to a vaccination while there. He didn’t make it clear whether they’d know in advance or just have it sprung on them though.

She was done at 06:30 - I doubt that was a routine appointment for something else, and of course consent would be needed for cameras to be in. She was probably asked about tekevisation when they got in touch to tell her she could have her jab

For anyone interested, this is what I was trying to find out, only this only seems to have been published recently.
