Cough

DD has coughed not continuously but 3/4 times today. Absolutely fine in herself but I am going to report to school tomorrow and expect they won’t let her in.

Currently arguing with DS and son over what is a continuous cough.

Would you do the same and keep her off?

Isnt the rules ,
The whole of your house to isolate untill you get a negative test for your daughter?

Yes, this is why it’s being hotly debated as to what’s a continuous cough. DH and I are home anyway but other DC will have to isolate too.

Has she literally coughed 3 or 4 times today or have they been multiple coughs at the same time? NHS definition is 3 or more coughing ‘episodes’ in 24 hours. Would you say it’s a new cough or just her doing a one off cough occasionally?

MN has a much stricter idea of 'continuous' cough than I do.
I occasionally cough every day. It's my normal.

I can also get hacking non-stop crying almost puking cough spells when I have a viral thing. Rather different.

Hmmm

She coughed a couple of times each time.
I’m ringing her school in the morning and everyone’s prepared to isolate.

I have access to tests so we can use them and await results if necessary.
