How will they know what job we do

Just thinking that my GP would have no idea that I'm a social care worker with those with severe mental health issues and / or homeless. I rarely see a GP, I'm not under any hospital care
So how will I be called for the vaccine?

Isn’t it your employer’s responsibility?

notanotherlockdownsurely · 07/12/2020 16:21

I don't know. That what I'm asking
Is it?

I was wonder similar with regards to unpaid carers etc if they decide where we fall in the priority list.

greensnail · 07/12/2020 16:28

I would imagine if you entitled due to your job then it would come through your employer like with flu vaccine.

Surely unpaid carers would be if you claim carers allowance? Otherwise anyone could claim to be an unpaid cadet, I might do it myself!

For unpaid Carers:- Carers Allowance recipients; people with Carer marked on their GP records; local authority registrations for emergency Carer covers; local Carer support hubs etc.

I had this conversation with my old boss the other day.

I used to work in care, I don't anymore. She's as confused as everyone else.

If I was working there I'd assume it would be through the company.

I'm not even registered with an NHS GP. I reregistered 20 years ago, my records are held in a storage place somewhere. I see private GPs and use my health insurance. So an NHS Gp has no record of me anyway.

WankPuffins · 07/12/2020 16:57
  • I de registered
JellyTots2009 · 07/12/2020 17:32

I work in a care home and my employer has informed us we will get the vaccine there.
I'm sure your work place is responsible for this

JellyTots2009 · 07/12/2020 17:33

My work informed us HR need our NHS numbers to register us.

Ifonlyicouldliveinmypjs · 07/12/2020 17:37

Registered Care homes / care companies are being asked to compile lists of staff members for this purpose.

FatGirlShrinking · 07/12/2020 17:50

There may end up being a requirement for people in s9me roles to self identify and provide a payslip/letter from employer as evidence 8 suspect.

I was wondering similarly for obese patients, last time I was weighed at the doctors I was class 2/morbidly obese, so assume at some point that would bump me up the list. I'm now overweight heading towards healthy weight, presumably there are lots of people in my situation and the opposite who've gone from overweight to obese. No accurate records will exist.
