Spa break?

I'm booked to go on a spa break with my sister and a friend in January.

Three households. All tier 2.

It's only just occurred to me that this might not be allowed- I'd forgotten about it all.

We will be staying in the same room and for the 2 nights be a bubble.

I can't find guidance on this! I know rules may change by January or we could be in lockdown again anyway, but assuming it's the same rules as now- can we go?

No it’s not allowed of you’re tier 2. It’s no mixing indoors in any setting. Certainly not sharing a room, and no meals inside etc. You can’t be a ‘bubble’ for two nights either, that doesn’t exist as a thing.

Also to clarify, it’s illegal, not just against guidance.

Thanks. I've been a bit confused as I couldn't find specific guidance for accommodation in England.

I'll be hoping things lift/relax soon then!

No, you can’t just bubble for a trip away.

karmadramallama · 06/12/2020 18:36

No, I understand that under these rules, but we did last time we went under lighter rules.

It's fine, the venue will reschedule us if needed. I was just at the point of booking treatments when it dawned on me that the tier rules are against me.

Tbf, I kind of hope we do have to have it rescheduled as I'm not looking forward to sharing close space at the moment.

The guidance doesn’t spell out every scenario but it’s quite clear that it’s no mixing inside in any setting. Definitely not allowed holiday accommodation together and not sharing rooms. You will definitely have to reschedule unless you are all changed to tier 1, but even in tier 1 you need to stay socially distanced so can’t really share a room.
