Test and trace timing?

Sorry if this has been asked before, I did look but couldn't see anything.

A colleague has tested positive. We're on the same team and work fairly closely. We both have the NHS app and he has uploaded his result today.

If I were to be told to self-isolate, does anyone know how quickly they contact you?

I tested positive this morn. Track and trace called me this morning and my husband got a text to isolate pretty much as soon as I got off the phone! I would think they would be in touch the same day the person gets their positive result

I didn't get a t&t call until 6 days after the positive result of my contact - luckily they'd told me themselves so I had isolated accordingly.

My dd was told to isolate on Tuesday morning (school but sixth form), the notification came on her app today. Seeing as it has the exact same end date we presume it was for the same case

That’s crazy some notifications come so long after exposure, makes you think what’s the point in it? Thank you, not feeling too bad think I have a mild case thankfully
