Angry teachers why aren't your leadership team doing more?

If there's 2-3 teachers catching Corona daily in one school (15 a week) as stated on another thread why on earth has your leadership team not shut the school? Another school with 66 cases in pupils in one week, why is the school still open?
Before you say the government won't support it, that's rubbish. My DCs school has recently shut for 2 weeks at least to all but year 11 and 13. And they had much fewer cases than above and none in staff.
You should be lobbying your leadership team as they sound useless.

It’s awful you are being put in that position and you patients too. I really hope you are okay and don’t suffer too much. I’m just recovering it from myself and have every sympathy.

We're one of those weird households that it didn't spread within. I had it back in March. My son around October.

It's the ventilation bit that really gets me. Even with the heat infection rates are low in there.

And many of the newer hospital are designed not to open. Same with many of the treatment rooms and a&e. That is of course if they have windows!. And of course, same with some schools.

@canigooutyet

Oh I'm saying they are bloody freezing in schools. Yet another one of the great government fantastic really thought through plans for schools must remain open at all costs. Hyperthermia is also a bitch to deal with.

The ward windows do not open. There is no ventilation.

Sorry, I misunderstood your comment. I agree it’s a ridiculous policy in the depths of winter in most schools. There’s very clear evidence that working in sedentary jobs can be harmful at low temperatures. We’re expecting little kids from 4 years old to do it too.crazy

The newer hospitals with non opening windows have ventilation systems though don’t they?

Don't feel guilty, I know easier said than done.

We see how bad it is in the NHS. The ward I was on, normally has 24 beds separated into 4 bays. They now have 16 due to SDing.

Yet classrooms are supposed to be safe in their 28+ packed rooms Grin

And it's not like staff are in ward/floor bubbles.

What is really aggravating is that EUCDC, WHO and more put plans online months ago to safely and cheaply put measure in hospitals that could have easily been used in schools. It was even mentioned in at least one of those agencies plans.

Are the kids in Alaska, Canada, Russia, Northern France, Spain etc sitting in classrooms freezing their arses off? No, that would fuck over their health systems, not protect it surely?

We know the cold kills, unless it seems you have this magical coating that is keeping schools open at all costs. If it wasn't political, why not education at all costs? We know the Conservative government abhor Unions, just look back into the miners history. And it's hard not to see some of the similarities, including media blackouts.
