Getting a private test

My dd will be in school until 16th December - there is no way I can take her out before this date. I'm considering getting a private covid test for her once she has finished school as we are due to see family on the 25th and i would just like the reassurance. Does anyone have any experience of getting a private test? Or recommendations of which company to use? Thanks in advance.

I think you'll just st have to google for who is providing them locally.

But any 'reassurance' will be illusory, as the incubation period ranges from 2-14 days (peaks at about 5-7 days) so if she has been in contact with someone in the last few days of term she could well be incubating it even if she tests negative a day or two after last possible school exposure

Our local pharmacy, not one of the big ones, are doing private tests, where they order one to be sent to you, you do test and post it and get results within 48 hours. There is also a private GP clinic at our doctors, they are also offering tests. They cost around £150.
