Yr 10 attendance issues

My DD is in yr 10 and there seems to be a huge attendance issue in her year group. She had 9 in her tutor group today. There are some genuine children who are self isolating but lots are just saying they have a cough and headache and staying off. At 14 it seems children make their own decision to stay off - parents just don't seem to worry. I will not authorise or just let her stay off for no reason. Obviously I am the most hated mum at the moment because she has no friends in school. I did text one of the mums as she is a friend and she just says not it is not worth worrying about as the year is messed up anyway!! I worry about what she has missed anyway surely keeping children off unnecessarily is just adding to more missed work.

My year 9 has never had a day off school, ever, and my year 10 about 3 days . No I wouldn’t let them stay off for no reason.
