Dry sinuses?

thaaaafuck · 01/12/2020 17:42

I have already had a test today just waiting for my results!

Anybody who tested positive did you have dry sinuses? My nose/sinuses are so dry and sore but also runs every so often if that makes sense. I've also developed a cough which made me get tested today but my main symptom is my sinuses.

I'm struggling to breath through my nose due to it being dry and sore but if I breath through my mouth my mouth then gets dry too. Hoping it's just a general cold type thing!

Ooh I saw an article about this yesterday saying its a symptom. I'll see if I can find it.

thaaaafuck · 01/12/2020 18:03

@Northernsoullover It seems like everyone has lots of different symptoms of it. I did try and have a google but I can't see much! Thank you! Smile

My main symptom is my sinuses. Mines like a bad cold though. But with a weird tingling feeling in my face.

thaaaafuck · 01/12/2020 19:39

@starrynight19 I can't even describe how I'm feeling it's so strange!

I feel fine in myself just my nose/sinuses feel like they are so dry and sore and the back of my throat! I don't have a sore throat but I haven't had a sore throat since I had my tonsils out nearly 15 years ago! Little cough every now and then but I'm swallowing lots of mucus so I don't know if it's that! Better to be safe than sorry though I guess.

How are you feeling now?

Hopefully it’s negative for you. Not great but I only tested positive yesterday so early days for me.

thaaaafuck · 01/12/2020 22:11

Thanks @starrynight19 I'll keep this thread updated with my results incase anybody has similar symptoms Smile

Interested in hearing more and hope results go well for you thaaaafuck and a speedy recovery starrynight19. Every winter for more than 10 years, I come down with something that lasts weeks to months- and my sinuses and nose completely dry up, to the point of bloody noses, killer sinus headaches and miserable post nasal drip. Also cannot breathe through nose as so blocked up/inflamed. Lose taste/smell.

thaaaafuck · 02/12/2020 00:24

@mamakoukla I'm exactly the same! I'm 99% sure it's just a sinus problem/infection but thought I'd better test, rather be safe than sorry Grin

What with the DC being at school and also having general snotty noses it could just be mine develops into my sinuses.

My GP refuses anything other than nasal steroids which just give me a very sore throat as it trickles down a la post nasal drip. Saline washes do help a bit but once the congestion kicks in, it would require a powerful squirt to get liquid past and I’m worried about causing damage. Thinking back, the first year was 2003 and it’s been an annual recurrence since lasting from 4-6 weeks to up to 6-7 months. If you do try saline washes, make sure you use distilled water or boiled and cooled water. Tap water isn’t sterile.

BetsyBoo100 · 02/12/2020 03:35

Oh no I hope you're better soon. My friend who had covid recently said sinus pain was her main system. She's 6 months pregnant but thankfully all is ok. Fingers crossed for a negative result

BetsyBoo100 · 02/12/2020 03:35

And that should be symptom not system!

GabriellaMontez · 07/12/2020 09:24

I've had the same and would love to know if you've had results.

And hope you're feeling better.

HoneyPea · 07/12/2020 09:31

I had a positive result on Thursday and I have had a cold and sinus problems-thought it was flu as had a negative lateral flow on the sat! My nose feels like I have touched a chilli and then accidentally touched my nostril, it fizzes and burns.
Hope yours is just a cold.

ittakes2 · 07/12/2020 09:43

Watching with interest as my daughter has had painful sinuses but it’s her only symptom.

thaaaafuck · 07/12/2020 09:48

Sorry, I completely forgot about this post!

Results came back negative, I felt awful all of last week, this is now turned into a snotty nose and chesty cough! It's so hard to distinguish COVID symptoms to general cold/flu symptoms!

I hope you all feel better soon!

thaaaafuck · 07/12/2020 09:49

@HoneyPea that's exactly how my nose felt, it was so sore and dry but right deep into my nose!

Zem74 · 07/12/2020 10:26

Oh I’ve just read this and it’s exactly how I’ve been feeling for the past few day. Sinuses feel very full, like my head is congested. Lost of post nasal drip but nothing coming out of my nose! The only way I can explain it is everything feels dried up, sinuses, eyes, throat. Hadn’t even linked it to potential covid. Feel well in myself.
Glad you’re negative. Hope you’re feeling better now x

thaaaafuck · 07/12/2020 11:01

@Zem74 that's exactly what it was like for me, it's hard to describe but everything felt dry and sore! Now I'm left with a snotty nose and a chesty cough but feeling so much better than last week!

Thanks for the update! Glad you're on the mend.
