Shall I go?

Seems like a simple question that I should know the answer to but I'm dwelling on both the options that I have!

I'm vulnerable, I have two auto immune conditions. I'm not on supressant medication but always felt that I shouldn't risk catching this virus. I've not seen any family for months and I only go out for exercise, shopping and work. Also extremely careful with cleanliness.

I've been invited for dinner on Christmas day at my mum's (just her) then possibly my sister and her family will join later.

My mum has a health condition and is over 70. She doesn't seem concerned about mixing with me and she doesn't seem to mix with many people.

Shall I just give it a miss this year?

I would skip it.

jldy2020 · 30/11/2020 19:37

Could you and your mum isolate for 14 days before Xmas to reduce the risk?

cheesecadet · 30/11/2020 19:40

@IrritableBitchSyndrome thanks. Absolutely love the name.
@jldy2020 not really possible, I need to work and my mum looks after my brother's daughter.

If seeing your mum will give you a boost and be enjoyable, then eat with her and leave before the other family arrive.
Happy Christmas love x

Thank you X

Am I allowed to see her considering I've not been in a bubble with her?

No bubble needed for Christmas meetings, but only 3 households in total even if you don't see your sister, that counts because your mum will see your sister's family as well so that's the 3.

Thank you Flowers

So even if she's in Tier 3, it's still fine? My gut it saying don't go but just hoping she's okay with it.

Similar position. We'll skip. If my parents were in this country though I would want to visit in the garden, go for a walk with them in the park,... anything outdoors and at a distance. But def not indoors.

It doesn't matter what tier you're in, you can still make the 3-household Christmas bubble :)
