Thoughts about marquees?

A few local pubs and cafes have rigged up marquees with 2 open sides in their gardens. Tier 2.

They are advertising for bookings of non household groups of up to 6 and are nearly full.

Not sure if it’s a good idea or not? I mean it’s not really distancing though is it?

It will be spaced out and in fresh air. Low risk. People can make own decisions

It's within the rules so why not? I'm sure if it was your business you'd try anything to keep it going too.

It is ok for toddler groups to get ahead in Marquees though and indoors and go to school and for teens.

FGS let adults have something

If you don’t agree with it don’t go. Leave others to decide for themselves.

This x 2.

If you don't want to go OP then no one is forcing you to book but it's within the rules and some of us would be happy to dine (quite frankly I would be inside as well).

It’s fine, it’s open and they need to adhere to other COVID measures including spacing tables out, drinks only with meals, table service etc. Hospitality is doing what it can to survive.

Racoonworld · 30/11/2020 08:56

Completely fine with two sides open. In tier 2 you’re allowed to sit outside at cafes and pubs with others so it’s fine. We have to have something to do!

It's a good idea, feel sorry for those premises with no outside space.
