Will anywhere be in tier 1?

Do you think anywhere will be in tier 1? Looking at www.covidmessenger.com/coronavirusliveupdate/ the place with the fewest new cases is Teignbridge which is on 53 cases per 100,000 over the last 7 days. It wasn’t long ago when being above 50 was really bad.

Manchester, Hull, Newcastle, Nottingham, Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Kent are all tier 3.

CrunchyCarrot · 26/11/2020 11:40

Cross-posted with you, LottieDot.

Matt Hancock speaking now.

boys3 · 26/11/2020 11:41

Looks like just Isle of Wight and Cornwall are tier 1

Rest of south west mainly tier 2 aside Bristol, south Gloucestershire and n
North east Somerset at tier 3

boys3 · 26/11/2020 11:42

Oops that’s North Somerset at tier 3, bath and north east Somerset is t2

sar302 · 26/11/2020 11:42

We were tier 1 before lockdown and have under 100 daily cases per 100,000 now. I'm hoping we'll go back into tier 1, but their website keeps crashing!

unicornparty · 26/11/2020 11:44

I was tier 1 before and now have 87 per 100k but we're now in tier 2.
Itwillendintiers · 26/11/2020 11:45

So I was T1 before now T2 after lockdown. So cases are still rising in my area, as in most of former T1. Which simply proves the government has lost control of the virus in much of the country and more restrictions are needed not fewer. Apologies to those who are anti-lockdown, but you must also be wondering about the point of it all if cases are still rising...

transformandriseup · 26/11/2020 11:45

We are tier 1 (Cornwall)

southeastdweller · 26/11/2020 11:46

Just three areas - Cornwall, IoW and Isles of Scilly.

LottieDot · 26/11/2020 11:47

I'm north east so was expecting Tier 3, however our rates are coming down (except for one or two towns) so was hoping that would be taken into account and push us to Tier 2, but alas not.

JacobReesMogadishu · 26/11/2020 11:50

Am in tier 3. Fuck.

Gyms can be open but no classes.

sar302 · 26/11/2020 11:51

@unicornparty Yep, just checked, we're tier 2 now too. Seems slightly ridiculous!

EffOrf · 26/11/2020 11:52

Loads in tier 3, Philip Scofield just read them out on This Morning

JellyBabiesSaveLives · 26/11/2020 11:53

We don't exist. Grand.

West and Sout Yorkshire in Tier 3, North Yorkshire and York in Tier 2, and the East Riding of Yorkshire - doesn't exist.

Tier 0 would be lovely then

Itwillendintiers · 26/11/2020 11:55

What an effective and thorough lockdown that was then.
So effective, most areas are in higher tiers than before.
What a good time to relax restrictions...
Hmm

Springersrock · 26/11/2020 11:56

It’s been announced in our local press that we (Isle of Wight) are in tier 1

I am a bit surprised actually, I thought we’d be tier 2 - our figures don’t look bad, but despite what the linked website says, our cases aren’t really consistently falling and we have diddly squat in the way of ICU. Plus, cases are substantially higher than they were when we went into lockdown - 40.2 per 100k going in, 76.2 per 100k last Friday.

OneForMeToo · 26/11/2020 11:57

Went is as a 1 leaving as a 2. Tbh I’m past caring now really. In out in out. Do this but do that instead and blah blah blah.

Whatever9999 · 26/11/2020 11:59

Absolutely pissed off that the areas in tier 1 actually have higher numbers than here. Hopefully if south essex gets their numbers down then we'll go down to tier 1 quite quickly

WhatKatyDidNxt · 26/11/2020 12:01

@Whatever9999 problem is it varies too much across south Essex e.g. Southend is 125 but Basildon is 276 Confused

DigitalGhost · 26/11/2020 12:01

Tier 3 for us.
We've had 2 weeks of being allowed to see anyone since March.
What's the point existing anymore.

notevenat20 · 26/11/2020 12:04

www.gov.uk/guidance/full-list-of-local-restriction-tiers-by-area is more helpful than the crashing website.

:( You can see 6 people outside I think.

Carlislemumof4 · 26/11/2020 12:08

Cumbria tier 2. Carlisle would possibly be better with tier 3 like Newcastle and Lancashire though, guess it's problematic with the number of people who commute in and out of the city from all over the county for work, education, hospital, retail, travel.

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 26/11/2020 12:10

Were tier 1 now we are tier 2
