Tier 3 and eating out

If an area is in Tier 3 I know restaurants cannot open.

Anyone got any guesses if they would change that for Christmas for the 5 days?

For the first time ever we booked to go out this year. Just our household. Trying to work out if I need to get a food order in ASAP

I doubt it. I'm in the same boat. Never cook on Xmas Eve or Day.

They won't do this.

I doubt it. I think the idea over Christmas is for people to meet up in houses rather than pubs/restaurants. I would do a food order, you can always cancel if things change.

No they won’t I wouldn’t have thought because in the Christmas rules it says that these bubbles of up to 3 households should only meet in someone’s home or outdoors I think...so opening up restaurants for that would be a bit of a moot point.

Also restaurants/pubs need to know now if they are opening or not over Xmas due to ordering etc.

The logistic issues and cost of opening for just five days would prevent most pubs and restaurants from opening I imagine. They won't be able to accomodate enough covers due to social distancing to make it financially worthwhile.
