DS6 came home from school with a cough. She’s still coughing now and says her throat hurts. Do I keep her home tomorrow and get her tested? Do the other DC still go to school?
Feck off covid!!

Sorry yes OP. She stays off, you get her a test and everyone else stays off whilst her test comes back.

She needs a test, and your household needs to isolate until she (hopefully) gets a negative result.

Keep her off and get a test, if you send her in they'll put her in isolation and phone you to collect her anyway

For a test you'll need your mask, hand gel, tissues and a drink for afterwards

Dd5 had one on Tuesday (negative) results were 23 hours and she was back at school the next day

If anyone else is getting tested I'd take a pen and you have to write their names on a form to take home

Other dc should stay at home, dd got sent home from school with a symptom and ds was sat with her in isolation

Both were asked to have a negative test before returning

All at home. Test booked. Joy!

Easy to see from the outside. When ds got a temperature I was like "so does this mean he needs to get a test?" While also knowing that of course he bloody does.

He was negative. Hope yours is too.

Thanks. Knew she needed a test, but wasn’t sure if the the other DC needed to stay home as the school said last time that siblings should still go in
