Christmas dinner/Day conversations

I don't think i'll be meeting up with family, but when all these families get together again, will they actually talk about anything else than this bloody virus and pandemic?

Picturing all these round tables with families bleating on about it over Christmas dinner, and probably arguing in a lot of cases, at least provides some comfort for not bothering.

It's obviously dominated the chat for the year, but If you are having a family Christmas meal or get-together, have an agreement beforehand, no Covid chat Smile

We'll probably mostly talk about the little ones and food, as usual. We have multiple little ones in our little Christmas group, so nobody gets through more than half a sentence regardless.

We will talk about TV programmes, places we have been recently (e.g. country parks) what other family members are doing at Christmas, my parents home renovations, what my daughter is doing at preschool, our gifts, the food. We will also play games.

The topic will be banned in my house on Xmas day. Like the poster above, the focus will be on the kids anyway. It's my little girls 1st Christmas!

I’ve seen my parents twice since March and my brothers not at all. The last thing we’re going to want to mither on about is anything Covid related. I suppose it’s fortunate we’re all broadly of the same view (not afraid, pretty relaxed about how we interpret the rules) so it certainly won’t involve an argument. But seriously, surely if people are making an active decision to spend time with family when they would strictly have a good reason to choose not to, they can try to avoid causing drama and fights for a day or so?
