Hi all,
We are getting tested for covid-19 tomorrow. I am so worried 😢😢 could you tell me what your symptoms were please? So far all I've had is a real bad headache and a runny nose.
Thank you

Who can get a free test
You can only get a free NHS test if at least one of the following applies:
• you have a high temperature
• you have a new, continuous cough
• you’ve lost your sense of smell or taste or it’s changed
• you’ve been asked to by a local council
• you’re taking part in a government pilot project

Not sure that a runny nose and headache make you eligible for a test Hmm

What’s the reason for your test? It doesn’t sound like you have Covid symptoms, that sounds more like a cold.

meganevie0406 · 25/11/2020 14:51

Reason for a test is because my 1 year old has a cough and my daughter school has been closed because she has been in close contact with someone who's tested positive.

I think your one year old could get a test but not sure if you or your other daughter are eligible.

LucyLocketsPocket · 25/11/2020 14:56

If your one year old has a continuous cough that is!

We have had the test now

Good luck op, hope you're all ok. It can be a worrying time can't it?

You have none of the symptoms though Hmm

UniversalHadIt · 25/11/2020 19:36

Jesus- some areas are offering testing to whole families if one person displays symptoms. Mine is one of them.

The bloody testing police drive me nuts.

Hope you’re okay OP. We’ve had 5 tests since September for coughs, fevers etc and all came back negative (this we actually had covid back in april as it goes...)

@meganevie0406

I wouldn’t worry. People are WEIRD on here about “the rules”. And also have no concept that “the rules” aren’t universally applied across different local authorities, despite their apparent expert status. Grin

It was actually my doctor who advised me to get a test. In my area the most common symptoms is a headache
