The vaccines will be being rolled out. We’re in for a tough winter but by Easter most vulnerable people will have been vaccinated, the weather will change and things will look a lot brighter.

lovelemoncurd · 25/11/2020 03:27

There is an end to all this restriction and it's coming. I'm a nursing lecturer. The hospitals are making plans to vaccinate our student nurses and we've asked for early January as many of them will be travelling back to family soon so can't do it earlier.

You will see a mass vaccination programme starting probably Jan of the like that we have never seen in our lifetime and that will be the signal that life as we knew it will resume.

Toddlerteaplease · 25/11/2020 03:33

It was announced yesterday evening that Nottingham will begin vaccinations on 9th December as long as it's been approved by then. Bring it on!

GroundAlmonds · 25/11/2020 03:52

Not long now OP. Hang in and be brave. Flowers

lovelemoncurd · 25/11/2020 03:57

@Toddlerteaplease yes provision are being made for care homes and front line staff for December so that will be great for families to hug their loved ones again. It's all up from here on op.

DianaT1969 · 25/11/2020 04:24

What do you think about the vaccines OP? Are you planning on getting one?

LegoPandemic · 25/11/2020 06:29

Yes I’ve heard front line staff in Yorkshire will start getting jabbed from 8th December.

Hugosmugo · 25/11/2020 07:26

I feel like a yo yo at the moment. Up and down. I can spend half the day upbeat and positive and the other half sad.
Thank you for starting this thread. It is bringing some positivity. I really hope the vaccines are approved by then 🙏

Mindymomo · 25/11/2020 07:55

Yes, it really is sad at the moment. I wish I could hug my deceased Mum and Dad as I’ve really missed them more than ever this year, but there’s been lots of good news this week with vaccines and cases lowering.

AuntieStella · 25/11/2020 08:00

Winter will be tough, so brace yourself, and try to find the slightly Pollyanna-ish people as they can really help (yes it's irritating to be told to count your blessings, but never underestimate how much your thought patterns affect you). Get through it one bite at a time.

The normal ending of the winter virus season, as the sun gets a bit of strength back, will combine with the vaccine roll-out making its way through the vulnerable.

I suspect there may be relaxation in restrictions once they have immunised all categories up to and including the CEV (currently priority 6) and further significant relaxations once the medically vulnerable (priority 7) have been done.

wildbarnet · 26/11/2020 12:23

Thanks all and yes I would take the vaccine xxxx
Stay safe
