Sweden and Christmas

My brother lives with dm about a two hour drive away from us, his son lives in Sweden with his mother. My db has planned to fly to Sweden, collect his son and fly back here for Christmas. My other db lives by himself, and will be (if allowed) at dm's for Christmas Day. Therefore they will be three households mixing. But......I'm presuming that dB and his ds have to isolate and therefore my DM and other db do too? Is my understanding correct? Does this mean that my DM and other ds cannot work? I'm so confused about it all.
They are also going to all kick up a drink because they all want to come down here on boxing Day and I'm not remotely keen what with so many households!!
(As an aside my db's son has down syndrome, so is vulnerable too!)

It would still technically be 2 households. As your brothers son would be classed as his household.
Feom isolation point of view this would depend if flightsa from sweden are required to isolate.
From a safety point of view. Brother flying to sweden will be a risk of contracting. Flight back will be a risk of contracting. Ither brother staying will be a risk too. How vunerable is your mum and how would see feel if grandson/sons werent there for christmas?
For does your nephews mum feel about visit as son is vunerable?
Could your brother stay with son in sweden this yr so still sees son.

You dont need to have them visit its likely to be against the rules and ultimately you can just say no and suggest a zoom catch up

So now we have all the relevant info.....my db is flying to and from Sweden on 20th Dec, to collect his son. (son's mother is absolutely happy with this)
I have said to DM that we can't see any of them at Christmas because they will have to self isolate for 14 days anyway. Apparently I'm being a cow and no one will know and I should just let them come down!!
I'm not being unreasonable, am I? It's against the rules. They shouldn't be going anywhere at all!!

It is against the rules so on that basis you aren’t being unreasonable, however if your brother never leaves the airport it could be argued that it is, at the very least, a bit of a grey area on self isolation.

It sounds like they’re going to do what they want regardless so I suppose it depends how much you want to see them.
