I've been working as a contact tracer since May of this year, I was furloughed from my last position in March and then made redundant as of June so have been doing this full time.

I'm well aware some people have absolutely no interest in what we do but Ask Me Anything if you are interested

Interesting to read the list of exceptions where a positive person can leave the house.

Maternity units are allowing positive partners to accompany their pregnant partner to labour/birth. Meaning someone who is positive for covid is cooped up in a room with their partner and the midwife and any other doctors , etc for hours and hours. And I don’t see accompanying someone else to a medical appt being on the exemption list. I keep saying it’s illegal and just get told that it would be in humane not to allow them to the birth of their own child. 🤷‍♀️

You want to come and work for my LA. My colleagues on secondment as contact tracers are being paid £30k a year. The contact advisors who do the donkey work on the phone get £11.

To be a contact tracer with us you need to have come from a certain service area most are from EH or Licensing.

I took a test a week last Monday and have still not had the results - I work in a school across 2-3 bubbles with absolutely no distancing with dc and it can be hard with staff. If this is positive all those people have been out and about and mixing for over a week when they should have been isolating. Is this common and if say the test results came back tomorrow would you contact everyone for the sake of one day?
