As per the title has anyone got an idea what tier cornwall might be put under?

I’m guessing tier 1

FuzzyPuffling · 23/11/2020 20:49

I'd guess 2.
Cases have been rising quickly here (although from a low base) and even if there's a fall, it seems to be miniscule and not sustained.
Mind you, I live very close to one of Cornwall's hot spots.
And then there's HMS Raleigh...

Whirlwind14 · 23/11/2020 20:52

I’d hope the lowest tier again but probably looking like two. Cases are rising, but we’re still way below average for country. The decision is also based on NHS capacity, last I heard Treliske had 6 patients but i Exocet that’s risen now too...

sittingonacornflake · 23/11/2020 20:59

I really really really hope 1. If we are put in 2 then I can't imagine many places in the country will be 1.

timeforanewstart · 23/11/2020 21:07

If cornwall aren't tier 1 then can't see anybody being

unchienandalusia · 23/11/2020 21:18

No one knows yet ffs. The criteria hasn't been published. The government hasn't even decided. I do t get the point of these threads. Hey random people in the internet ... please guess this unanswerable question please because I can't wait three days for the actual answer!

FuzzyPuffling · 23/11/2020 21:32

Well I think it's fair enough to discuss and consider possibilities from around the county.

Screwcorona · 23/11/2020 21:34

I'm hoping tier 2. I'm in newquay and theres still some holiday makers sneaked in here (I know because I know someone letting homes out to them) its beyond a joke now. The only thing that's gona stop the spread is travel restrictions

Chill08 · 23/11/2020 22:40

Thanks for replying. Im hoping we're placed in tier 1. If it is based on hospital info aswell then it does worry me as wonderfull as all the staff are at treslike there is only so many of them to go around. I live not far from newquay and the cases are going up where i am at the min

Hoping Suffolk will be tier one too. We were before being locked down

boys3 · 23/11/2020 23:35

Tier 1 - based on the four criteria Boris set out today

FuzzyPuffling · 24/11/2020 07:42

I don't think you could base it on hospital stats using just Treliske, as so many people in Cornwall use Barnstaple, Exeter and Plymouth hospitals too.

Hugosmugo · 24/11/2020 09:21

@unchienandalusia i think it is natural to be curious, it is a really stressful time and rhe government were wrong to tell us all of that yesterday and then make us wait 3 days. If they need to wait til Thursday then they should have announced it all on Thursday. This is causing me sleepless nights and I'm sure many others.

FuzzyPuffling · 24/11/2020 19:32

Cornwall Live have plumped for Tier 1 today.
Make of that what you will!

notevenat20 · 24/11/2020 19:37

If anything is in tier 1 then Cornwall should be. I am just not sure if anything will be in tier 1. Given that they want to let us mix over Christmas, they probably don't want numbers to surge before then.

Borris · 24/11/2020 19:38

Haha good old Cornwall Live. We'll probably be tier 3 now Wink

FuzzyPuffling · 24/11/2020 19:38

Or "Cornwall Lies" as we know it!

scentedgeranium · 24/11/2020 19:41

@Screwcorona my mind is boggling! We have a holiday let and had no problem with cancelling the single week we had booked this month of lockdown. We've also declined the new £3000 grant being offered. I bet the CFs you're referencing are taking that too!

Rosehip10 · 24/11/2020 19:44

"briefings" from Number 10 this morning were suggesting that no areas would be in tier 1 initially at least.
