@Delatron
I think compliance will be low now. People have had enough.

If people had followed the directions for the last 8 months and been under compliance you wouldn't be in this mess in the first place. Lots of East Asian countries have gotten this under control now. It's the "Western"/white countries (excepting Australia and NZ) that are still floundering about because the citizens don't want to think of people other than themselves.
Well said.

The government's Covid 19 Winter plan states that more of the country will be placed in tiers 2 and 3 than in October and they will be more restrictive. There is no negotiation with local government and although the tiers will be reviewed every 14 days, however while prevalence remains high it is likely that it will be longer before many places move down tiers. The tiring regulations lapse at the end of March so they would need to return to Parliament with any proposals for further restrictions.

We're definitely in this for the long haul.

I can’t belive there are people saying we are still in this mess because people didn’t follow rules

It’s nothing to do with that

Cases would have risen anyway - stop blaming others

If people followed the rules - and I mean real rules, not made up ones on Mumsnet- we’d still be here

Schools are all open
Most workplaces open
Gov own report states majority of companies are not working from home compared to March
Bars and restaurants all open in summer
Travel abroad -all summer
Sports and bloody theme parks all open

These were all allowed in rules

Yes mask compliance is low in some areas - not many- but masks atop like 7% of droplets so let’s not put too much emphasis on them

No rises were seen after huge crowds at all the protests, when people hit the beaches during the heat wave - no peaks at all

Don’t blame the groups you see on daily mail website

This is because everything’s open/been open and half the parents on here are still using gps for childcare

Stop blaming schools for rising deaths - they would think happen if we break the link between the kids and vulnerable family members

My teens are at achool and that comes at a balance of not seeing other relatives

Most people I know still mixing family under bubble terms. Bubbles are were transmission is happening

We’ve not been able to meet indoors since August where I am. We were locked down again because we had 27 cases in 100,000 people. It seems laughable now.

You get used to it.
