If hotels and holiday homes opened in December would you go?

OP posts:
BloomShine · 22/11/2020 17:02

Yes

raviolidreaming · 22/11/2020 17:06

Viv0321 I can't help but notice that you have started a motor threads asking what people would or wouldn't do. Are you struggling, or researching? If you're struggling, I hope you have real life support.

raviolidreaming · 22/11/2020 17:07

*lot of threads, not motor threads!

Crumpety · 22/11/2020 17:08

We have a CP break booked from 14th - 18th December. I’m assuming it will he cancelled but will go if not.

flowerycurtain · 22/11/2020 17:08

Nope.

Can't risk getting COVID/self isolating as a result of an unnecessary contact as a self employers person.

Won't be going any of that until there's a vaccine unfortunately.

halcyondays · 22/11/2020 17:09

No.

CheltenhamLady · 22/11/2020 17:15

Yes, we have a pre Xmas break booked and will be upset if we ccan't go.

Legoandloldolls · 22/11/2020 17:19

Nope. I would love to but not this year. I have booked two UK holidays in 2021 and I will be amazed if they go ahead in April. I'm more hopeful for msy half term.

I would see any point in booking for something that will be very dubious- so in the next few months. Saying that I'm crossing everything that Lapland uk ( which was booked for Nov and moved to post Christmas) will go ahead.

I'm getting quite good at zero expectations now.

Othering · 22/11/2020 17:19

Absolutely yes. Have been away several times already in the UK this year and we have a hotel booked over Christmas. Can't wait.

Pollynextdoor · 22/11/2020 17:21

Yes

MirandaMarple · 22/11/2020 17:22

If flights did - yes. We more often that not go away at Christmas.

FourTeaFallOut · 22/11/2020 17:23

Yes to holiday homes and a maybe to the hotel - if my intention was to stay in my room and use it as a base then I would.

greenlynx · 22/11/2020 17:25

No but we weren’t going to, we usually have only day trips locally around Xmas.
I don’t think we are going to travel anywhere until the pandemic finished.

frozendaisy · 22/11/2020 17:25

If they were on white sands in a tropical paradise then yes.

VulvaPerson · 22/11/2020 17:29

No but we had no plans to, if we did have plans..then yeah we would definitely go.

Jaxhog · 22/11/2020 17:32

Nope, much as I'd love to go somewhere different. I also haven't been away since August 2019 and cancelled/postponed 2 holidays this year.
I'm vulnerable so it isn't worth the risk.

SilenceOfThePrams · 22/11/2020 17:34

Yes. Have a holiday cottage booked and hoping it will still go ahead. Self catering, just us, and a load of empty hills to walk in. Holiday cottage owners need the business, we need the change of scenery, no need to stop on the way there or back and I know the owners so know they will be cleaning it properly before we go. Seems like a tiny risk with big gains all round

HitchikersGuide · 22/11/2020 17:39

Yes. Don't usually go away for Christmas, but just on principle this year, a few nights helping the continued survival of an extremely posh hotel would be just the ticket.

trappedsincesundaymorn · 22/11/2020 17:43

Yes. I'm fed up of these same four walls, day after day. A change of scenery for a few days would do me a heap of good.

itssquidstella · 22/11/2020 17:47

I have a night away booked for DH's 30th in mid-December. I'm very much hoping we'll be able to go, and will have no qualms about going if the venue reopens.

HolidayLetter · 22/11/2020 17:47

Please do!

Jade308 · 22/11/2020 17:48

Have CP booked for between Xmas and New Year, am hoping that goes ahead and will definitely go if not cancelled.

Bluepolkadots42 · 22/11/2020 18:09

If I had the money then yes definitely would enjoy a few nights away after Christmas.

AnyFucker · 22/11/2020 18:14

I would go to my own holiday home, yes.

It is fucking ridiculous I am currently not allowed to since when I go I literally isolate with my husband more than I do when at my primary place.

rookiemere · 22/11/2020 18:46

Gawd yes, work has been a bloody nightmare and I'm working ridiculous hours at home, and been told that I can't carry any holidays over. But I live in Scotland and even though the cases in Edinburgh are low, we're restricted to our own city limits and no one can see that lifting before Christmas even if the cases went down to zero.
