Hi,
I posted last night about having symptoms. I can’t get a test while tomorrow. I’m really concerned because I am experiencing a tight chest and strange feeling where my heart is. I am a super anxious person and have had many panic attacks but I’m so scared that this could be to do with COVID. What should I do?

Do you have any health problems other than your symptoms. How old are you ?

Hayeahnobut · 22/11/2020 14:31

Any unexplained chest pain should be checked, if you are concerned you should call 111 for advice. That's not because there's likely to be something wrong, what you describe does sound like a panic attack, but we don't have access to your medical information to give definitive advice.

Are you getting any help for your anxiety?

Torvean32 · 22/11/2020 14:39

I think you need to speak to somebody about anxiety. Chest tightness can be a sign of anxiety.

LucyCharlotteP · 22/11/2020 14:41

No no health problems I’m 31. I stopped taking my sertraline a few months ago I couldn’t cope with how they were making me feel. Last time I went and got checked out they put it down to panic attack. Sorry I’m just not sure what to do and I’m so scared.

It could be withdrawal symptoms from the sertraline- it can cause odd feelings and things like palpitations.

FirstTimeHome · 22/11/2020 15:58

Are you okay op? It could just be anxiety, I know I feel like that when my anxiety starts

Hayeahnobut · 22/11/2020 15:58

As above, if you're concerned that it's your heart and not anxiety related, call 111.

You do sound incredibly anxious. Please talk to your GP about alternative medication and therapy to help you manage your anxiety.

OP I get chest pain and palpitations when I'm anxious. I've been suffering for months and thought I had a health problem. GP was Convinced it was anxiety so I went back on anti depressants (I had a baby earlier this year and had stopped taking during pregnancy) and all these symptoms vanished within a few weeks.

LucyCharlotteP · 22/11/2020 21:09

Yeah I think I need to go back on them also. The feelings still there. I know no dr will see me right now due to me Having symptoms but I’m going to have to call and try and get something again.
