Tested positive yesterday. I’m a teacher and gutted.
Felt like I have a heavy cold but tonight I can’t sleep, I’m anxious and feverish. I feel nauseous.

Don’t know what I want other than some company.

Hello- I am also awake. But from feeding the baby.

Sorry to hear you’re feeling rubbish and anxious.
Covid seems to present in so many ways to different people. Are you on your own or are other asleep in the house?

Lifeispassingby · 22/11/2020 04:38

Have you spoken to your leadership team? Are there others off too? I’m sorry you are suffering, what symptoms made you test?

Remmy123 · 22/11/2020 08:20

Poor you - my mum (74) recently had it, felt awful for 2 weeks (very sick) she is fine now- unfortunately you have to go with it and rest as much as poss and paracetamol regularly.

You will be fine tho x

Hi @RosesandPumpkins. Sorry to hear about your positive test. I'm also a teacher and tested positive a week ago. How are you doing today?

PrivateD00r · 22/11/2020 13:07

Aw op I really feel for you, I found it a horribly lonely time so understand the need for 'company'. There is a thread on here for people who have tested positive that really helped me though, it is still running. Take care Flowers

Hi Op.

Also a school worker, got my positive test result at 4am Friday morning - hadn't been in school since Tuesday. My parents got an abrupt message Friday morning to say the bubble was now closed.

I'm not sleeping in the night, my legs are keeping me awake feeling heavy, restful and then I get a pang of guy anxiety!

Got dp and dd at home. But I'm hidden away in the bedroom, DP sleeping on the camp bed in the lounge. Feeling a bit sorry for myself.

RosesandPumpkins · 22/11/2020 13:58

A DP and two DC are here too. Trying to keep my preschooler away from me is proving tricky!

I’m the third positive at school, there may be more.

I’m struggling to parent and terrified my DP will get ill too as I need him to look after the kids.

I’m just so exhausted. And I’m so desperate to keep the kids away from me.

It is very lonely and time is going so so slowly.

Bless you!

My dd is 7 and a daddy's girl so she's doing alright at the minute and they are coping without me. I broke my ankle a few years ago and so wasn't able to help her much then, so it's not too strange for her. Maybe??

I'm the 2nd member of staff but 3rd bubble which has gone over the last 2 weeks.

They are long days, even with a nap/s. Also I got not the concentration or inclination to do anything more than be on phone and watch tv

Yea, I'm hoping dp doesn't get it, as we will be stuffed!

RosesandPumpkins · 22/11/2020 15:31

It’s amazing how slowly time suddenly moves when you’re bored and feeling rubbish!

My DH got it as well, and we have a 2 year old, so we have no choice but to tag team. Our 2 year old had a temp for a day but tested negative!

GivenchyDahhling · 22/11/2020 21:21

OP, I could have written this post - I’m a teacher and tested positive yesterday too. Feeling really feverish; no sense of taste or smell; bad cough (although the lack of taste of smell helps with the Covonia!).

Just wanted to let you know you’re not alone, it’s miserable and scary.

Mumisnotmyonlyname · 22/11/2020 22:57

I had it, and I have serious (respiratory) underlying conditions. I was really anxious too, but it wasn't so bad. Take heart, people.

IamHyouweegobshite · 22/11/2020 23:03

I'm a ta and today I tested positive, I have asthma and my chest has been bad all week, I suddenly got a strange headache and a slight temp on Thurs, got worse on Friday and tested in the afternoon. I was feeling a bit of a fraud earlier, but my chest is hurting tonight from coughing so much. My DH and DC keep coming close to me, I've tried to tell them to steer clear but they won't, DH says I've been sleeping with you all week so if i'm going to get it, I will. I don't won't anyone else I'll. Can I not take ibuprofen? Everyone just says paracetamol. I used to react with it with my asthma but recently it helps.
