Tier 4 Scotland/Lockdown England - Trades people?

Hiya there,

Can anyone help as I cannot see online regarding if you are in either Tier 4 Scotland or lockdown in England whether plumbers joiners etc can still carry on working. The rule is that you can't go into people's houses but if you can't do your job from home would this be OK so that you could carry on working? Also - what if you were working at someone's house say in a living room and they had 2 living rooms and stayed out of your way?

Thanks for any advice.

Trades people can currently work in England

Thank you - I'm hoping that it is the same for Scotland.

Very kind of you.

No one is in tier 4 in Scotland. I think only essential work is allowed inside the home in tier 4.

People are advised to work from home wherever that is practicable.

Businesses which provide essential services can continue to operate, such as those in theCritical National Infrastructure (CNI) sector, courts and tribunals. There are 13 designated CNI sectors including agriculture and food production, activity to maintain the food supply chain, energy and transport.

Not all CNI activity will be essential. Those operations which can be done effectively through home working should be adopted.

Outdoor workplaces, construction, manufacturing, veterinary services and film and TV production can also remain open.Theyshould plan for the minimum number of people needed on site to operate safely and effectively.

Home visits by contractors should only be for essential services.
