Woke up today and coughed then nothing until later tonight coughed a few more times but not a lot but I am trying to interpret the nhs wouldnt say continuous but have coughed more than 3 times in 24 hrs is that considered an episode ?
No temp or other symptoms and generally feel ok
Couple sneezes and my chest feels a little heavy but suffering acid reflux so think its more likely that.
Assuming due to coughing 3 times in less than 24 hrs even though just one cough at a time maybe 6/7 times.
Not due in work tomorrow but test should I tell them i am going to go for test , have stayed 2 m away but obviously we touch the same items / doors etc although I regularly sanitise etc

If you’ve booked a test for a cough, then I would advise your work as they can then send everyone home who was in close contact/bubble with you. They will have to isolate until you get your result, as will you.

I don’t think contacts have to isolate until there is a definite positive result.

I would let your work know, if nothing else it gives them a heads up and if your results take longer than expected they may record it as a separate kind of absence to regular sick leave.

Have let work know just in case
Although since booked cough barely there only lasted few hrs yesterday.

Also no one was in close contact with me at work as defined by contacts , but we share same office space so still worth them knowing.
Off to have test now kids kept home from college and school and dh off work as well , all isolating until result , just hoping it doesn't take too long to come through as can't afford no pay , i am only doing some temping so only get paid when i go in

As @Cornettoninja says, contacts don't have to isolate yet, only household members (including any 'bubble') Contacts only need to isolate if they are contact by T&T after a positive test.

I don’t know where you are @timeforanewstart but dd was tested yesterday lunchtime and had the result by text at about 8am. That’s Essex if that helps you have an idea of turn around times.

I think most areas have improved massively since September.

Fingers crossed you get a speedy negative.
