Long Covid in 23 year old?

My son 23, had Covid about a month ago. He wasn't that ill with it at all, lost his sense of smell and coughed a bit. He felt a bit tired at the end of the isolation period, and then perked up and was pretty much back to normal. Last week he had a headache, felt hot (temp 36.6c) and generally unwell. He spent two days in bed, which is unheard of. He's not sleeping well and feels really tired. The pharmacist recommended that he speaks to 111- not sure why really as what can they do? Does this sound like long covid? He's supposed to be starting some work and is worried as he has no energy and feels like poop!

It could be some virus still in his system or it could be an entirely different virus (not Covid).
Was he tested previously, and would he test again now?

He was tested yes - and he could be tested again but he's not got the 'traditional' Covid symptoms - his sense of smell hasn't come back since he first started with it.

I was wondering this too. I tested positive for covid a while ago, only had mild symptoms but lately have been feeling really tired and heavy chest, breathless walking up the stairs. I've had these for a couple of week

Sorry forgot to say I am 29

Yes he's really not right at all. He worked a ski season in France, and when he came home then he was coughing a lot but that was back in March when people weren't being tested routinely, so we don't know if he had it back then too. He's just really fatigued now. I wondered if there are any post viral vitamins or anything that might help him?

Is he on vit d?
There is a long covid support group on fb.

Covid does seem to cause insomnia too.

A month is a bit soon to be worrying about long COVID tbh. However this is a nasty bug for many. Dh and ds1 both had reoccurring symptoms for a few days here and there for several months after the initial infection but didnt have long COVID.

And YY to the insomnia that's unfortunately very typical.
