What if you get symptoms while self isolating?

Am currently isolating due to someone at work having a positive test (I’m a teacher, we’re dropping like flies!). I currently have no symptoms so my kids and husband do not have to isolate. If I do develop symptoms I will obviously book a test. If that comes back positive we would all have to isolate, but what would happen if it came back negative? I know I would still have to wait out the 14 days but would my kids then be able to go back to school? Probably won’t happen but I looked online and couldn’t find any info on this situation.

If you get symptoms and test negative then you continue until your 14 days are up.
The rest of the family isolates while you wait for your test result and when it's negative they go back to normal again

Great, thank you. I am on symptom watch at the mo so just thinking through possible scenarios!

Yes, as soon as you developed symptoms they would all isolate too. If test came back negative they could go back to normal but you continue to isolate.

Fingers crossed it’s all hypothetical!

Thanks. I really hope so. I am sooo bored already, just stuck in the bedroom trying to plan lessons and sort everything. Teaching from home really is not fun...
