Are one to one music lessons on at the moment, as in instrumental tuition at school? thanks

Depends on the school. My brother is a peri and some schools have him back in again but not others. Some have cancelled due to the current lockdown.

He is providing video lessons where possible. Check with the school, or even better with the teacher if you have their details.

GabriellaMontez · 11/11/2020 11:24

Yes. Apart from the odd school who have stopped them.

HitchikersGuide · 11/11/2020 11:28

I imagine it will depend on the school, it they are certainly allowed to be and are going ahead in the schools I know of (private).

DS is continuing with his drum lessons F2F.
It's naturally more distanced due to the drum kit which doesn't fit in the usual practice room.
It also can't be done by zoom on the pans at home Grin

The other instrument lessons are being zoomed though.

My DC in year 9 is taking music GCSE and is having her one to one weekly guitar lesson for 20 mins.

Orangeblossom7777 · 11/11/2020 14:20

Thanks, DS needs it for GCSE Music. Thing is they take them out of other classes so might try and arrange it out of school.

Hi music teacher here. All school lessons are going ahead as normal but we are not currently allowed to carry out music lessons face to face in our homes so I've moved all my pupils online again. Hope that helps

BrienneIsMyHero · 11/11/2020 14:24

@Orangeblossom7777 at my DCs school they change the time of lesson each term so they are not always missing the same subject. First she missed some English now PE which she's very happy about!

ILookAtTheFloor · 11/11/2020 14:30

May daughter has been having her 1-1 piano lessons in school as normal. Was virtual during the closure period.

ThrawnCow · 11/11/2020 14:55

Varies. We have nowhere for them to go so only if they can do it over zoom out of school hours.

Orangeblossom7777 · 11/11/2020 14:58

Yes they change the time here as well, but from week to week so have to check every week for the time etc. I guess it is Ok but just a bit concerned about missing any other subjects due to the time off already.

My son's drum teacher was coming for lessons to our house from September up to Lockdown 2 starting now back on Zoom again.
He isn't currently doing face to face at school either, as the schools didn't want the peripatetic teachers moving between different schools.
