Ok so DS (13) developed an awful cough on Sunday so i thought best get him tested and he's in isolation for 10 days or until a negative result and me 14 unless negative... understand, got it.

I'm vulnerable, have a number of chronic underlying health conditions... so i thought best get a home test kit and send it back rather than try to get to a drive through.

So test kit can take up to 5 days to arrive... then its got to go back to them which I assume could be up to 5 days also and 3-5 days for the results. Thats like a max of 15 days to turn a test around. Whats the blooming point of the test then, his isolation period will be finished before we even get the results.

🤦🏻‍♀️

I ordered home tests - they arrived the next day, and the results arrived the day after I put them on a priority postbox. Hopefully it’ll be quicker than you think!

I ordered a Home test on Sunday, still haven't received it. In the mean time I managed to get an appointment yesterday at a walk-in centre.

It arrived today so hopefully it will be much quicker. Managed to get it turned around and in the post box before last post today (it arrived an hour before last post... yay)
