Does anyone think they caught it outside?

Basically, as above. I feel pretty safe outside talking to a neighbour over the fence or on a short walk with a friend, following social distancing but not being totally strict about 2m at all times. However I would be very interested to hear if anyone has tested positive and thinks this is the type of scenario they caught it in. Thanks.

Yep...I caught it at work

AppleAndPearss · 09/11/2020 21:47

Yes at work, outside

So it’s not impossible, it’s just much much more u likely. Eg if you share a workstation, tools or equipment with someone, you could catch it outside still. Or if social distancing isn’t adhered to. But ventilation is really critical so it makes it much more unlikely

To those of you who caught it while working outside, would you mind posting how long you were with the infected person for? Was it a full working day? I'm interested because from what I've read, length of time spent with the infected person is an important factor.

Thanks everyone. Well only two people saying yes reassures me, but it shows it obviously can still happen. I hope you are both now fully recovered. Would you mind me asking what type of work you do please? Were you in particularly close or extended contact with the colleagues you caught it from? Thank you.

I went on a walk with someone last Wednesday. We were out in the open air for about an hour, arrived and departed separately and kept our distance though not a strict 2 metres.
He messaged me today that he's had a positive result following a test on Friday. He's testing every week as part of a trial.
I'm worried now, and hoping I did enough to stay safe. Worried for him also as hes in the upper age group. Im self isolating now from last Weds. I live alone and WFH so that's not difficult.
It's going to be a long week.....

I work outside everyday.
I’ve also been to two cities shopping this year.
I’ve not caught it.

I don’t wear a mask (unless it’s compulsory) and due to the nature of my job hand washing is impossible. So hand hygiene has been non existent.
