Is the virus rising rapidly in anyone else’s area?

According to the Zoe app the rate is increasing in my area and not dropping or stabilising like other places in England.

Could it be the university??

TooManyDogsandChildren · 11/11/2020 07:34

Big discrepancy between the Zoe figures for Camden posted by a PP and the CovidMessenger figures for Camden though?

HarrietOh · 11/11/2020 07:36

The Zoe app is a prediction based on a mix of people logging symptoms and test results.

IceFrost · 11/11/2020 07:41

@Nosuchthingastoomuchcheese

Down a lot by me. Over 500 cases less than last week. Am in south west.
I was just about to ask about the south west. I don’t have the app. Thanks
booboo24 · 11/11/2020 07:45

My fiance is in Bristol, their figures still seem to be going up fast

Nosuchthingastoomuchcheese · 11/11/2020 07:55

Bristol had been bad for a while I think.

Lovemusic33 · 11/11/2020 07:59

I drop in cases here but a rise in deaths. We are in what has been a low case area but cases had been going up during September/October, hospital admissions are up. In my postcode area there have only been 14 post it I’ve tests in the last week (rural area) so I’m not too worried.

MarshaBradyo · 11/11/2020 08:00

What does the BBC site say? I’m not sure the Zoe app isn’t hugely variable locally.

Ours is down slightly on BBC site

funtimefrank · 11/11/2020 08:04

Up for us - SW but near Bristol. In the top 100 now.

NaturalLight · 11/11/2020 08:09

Huge drop in Leeds - but I’m guessing that’s because we are over the student wave.

Just saw on the news that children in Somerset now have to wear face coverings on school transport? I thought that was already the case? Kids here in Dorset have been wearing face coverings since September on transport?

Bristol are going to be getting the rapid testing soon but not to the extent Liverpool are getting.

XmasLockdown · 11/11/2020 08:19

In Liverpool it has come down quickly but now going down slower.

Falling here!

Tessiot · 11/11/2020 08:34

Definitely on a downward trajectory here:

Can't get graph, but numbers have just levelled off here. Early Sept averaged about 27 per week per 100k, has been around 86 last three weeks, although a slight decrease to 82 last week. We're top edge of South West.

TeenPlusTwenties · 11/11/2020 08:41

These are actual cases not per 100K is that right?

In which case, without knowing the population it is hard to know whether the increases are significant, or not.

ReindeersAreBetterThanHumans · 11/11/2020 08:42

It’s a LOT higher here right mow.

VamosAhora · 11/11/2020 08:47

Down by about 15% from last week, I'm in London.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 11/11/2020 08:56

@Crakeandoryx

I've worked it out. Re enter postcode details and the app automatically shows you graphs. We appear to be coming right down now. We were in the many thousands now into hundreds.
Where/how did you re add your post code?
pourmeanotherglass · 11/11/2020 08:57

I'm in Bristol, where numbers are rising still, last week was 422 cases per 100k. We avoided tier 2 before lockdown, as a lot of cases were students and hospital admissions were low, but we may well come out of lockdown in tier 2/3, as cases are now rising across the population. My kids school currently has 3 whole year groups isolating.

We had really low numbers with the first wave, though a lot of locals think it went round Bristol early before extensive testing, as there was something very covid- like ciculating in Dec/ Jan.

corythatwas · 11/11/2020 08:58

Rising where I am and that corresponds to my personal experience; hearing of more and more people I know either testing positive or isolating because a housemate/family member/workmate has tested positive.

WindFlower92 · 11/11/2020 09:01

Rising in Portsmouth, up by about 1,000 from last week! Got the uni and I think it's quite dense here.

Plump82 · 11/11/2020 09:02

I'm in Lanarkshire. The app shows us with just over 4.5k cases and its showing as dropped by over 8k in the last week. This doesn't match at all what was said in Nicola Sturgeon briefing yesterday?

@polkadotpixie

Dropping here. I'm closer to Leicester than Market Harborough really though and not sure what's happening there
Leicester is going up
