How long for COVID test results?

I had a drive thru test on Saturday morning at 08:15 and was told that I should receive results within 48hrs. It's now 53hrs since the test with no result... I understand there was no guarantee on the result turnaround timeframe, but I'm starting to have that feeling when you're waiting for a late delivery of a Chinese delivery.

Do you still have the little slip from your test with the barcode number on?
They told me to call 119 & give that number if I needed to chase results .

Yeah, I've just contacted them, and they say they can't put a chase request through until after five days. Hopefully I get a result soon!

Test on Friday 10am and result came through at 6.45am Saturday, this was in North East

5 tests here in our family in the last few days. All came through in 21-22 hours.

How did you find out? Email/phone call etc?

I'm sat here refreshing my emails and checking text messages every 5 minutes lol

A member of my family had a test on Friday and result was back in just over 24 hours. I was told (by the person I booked it with on 119) that I results would be sent by text and also e-mail but I only received the e-mail (no text). Like you I was told they won't chase until after 5 days.

I'm Yorkshire, I had a test lunch time Saturday, my result was text through 06:50 Sunday! My DH has just had his done, I'll update when his results are through. May depend on where you are in the country : how busy your test centre is?

Text and email received at the same time. Three of the tests were done at the same time, all the texts and emails came through together. My phone went notification crazy!

I'm in Plymouth and there wasn't even a handful of cars at the drivethru

Same OP. Drive through test on Saturday morning and nothing. It's so frustrating!

Our family had had 5 tests done in the last two days. All have come back within 20-22 hrs. This is at Haydock in the North West.

That's rubbish op. We are in the north west and got son tested 7pm Thursday night (was fairly busy). Results 8pm friday night

Had the baby tested 3pm on Friday and the results were back 4am Sunday. They were text and emailed to us. East Midlands. Hope you hear from them soon

I had a test yesterday at 8.30am. Still waiting...

I took my elderly neighbour for a drive thru test 6pm sat 31st, results came 12 noon on the Monday so 42 hours. I used my mobile & email address as she’s in her 90’s and I received both email and text confirmation. Hope anyone waiting on results gets an answer soon. x

I had a test Friday afternoon, I’ve heard nothing l getting the feeling I’m not going to hear anything, all very frustrating, we’re all missing work and school and could be for nothing!

Have you checked your junk mail? My DH had one on Friday and results came through early Sat morning. He didn't notice it till later that evening when he checked junk.

Waiting... after a test Sun AM. Ridiculous that they still haven't got any consistency on this.

This is not good news!!! 😒😆

Got result 6am - negative. So just under 48hrs. South West London.

Negative result received today 6:06am - under 72 hrs turnaround. Hurrah.
