& EVERYONE working through to keep things ticking over

bearfood · 08/11/2020 22:00

At the risk of sounding trite, our risk is nothing like yours. Thank you, for all you do. From a Covid positive teacher.

Sweetnhappy1 · 08/11/2020 22:06

@bearfood I hope you recover quickly, get well soon. Knowing that my kids are in good hands makes it possible to do my job.

Thank you. Genuinely means alot. Thankyou for everything you do too.

Currently awaiting 2 children in my class test results to see if we need to isolate....

FredtheFerret · 08/11/2020 22:28

Thank you. I am currently a Covid positive teacher and feeling ill and worried about my classes, so this was nice to hear.

saraclara · 08/11/2020 22:37

Thank you so much, on behalf of my daughter and her partner, and my ex-colleagues (I'm recently retired from teaching and very glad to be so right now)

My other daughter is a nurse, so I know how both teachers and NHS workers are feeling. It's tough.

IamHyouweegobshite · 08/11/2020 22:43

Thank you, going back tomorrow after half term, really looking forward to seeing the children. We are now strictly in class bubbles, no mixing whatsoever, going to miss interacting with my other team members, but hopefully things get better soon.

supersonicginandtonic · 08/11/2020 22:46

Thank you teachers, TAs, admin and any other school staff: without you guys, me and my partner wouldn't be able to work.
NHS substance misuse worker and a probation officer xx

What a lovely thread (I work in a school).

HipTightOnions · 08/11/2020 23:19

Thank you Sweetnhappy (and others!) - that’s a very kind message.

Thank you too!

Sweetnhappy1 · 08/11/2020 23:20

@Augustbreeze I started this thread for you too. I had meant to say thank you to everyone involved in schools x

Thank you. I’m a teacher and I’m loving being back. Thank you to everyone who is keeping the country ticking over!

DreamingofBrie · 08/11/2020 23:24

And to you too, OP.

Thank you Flowers.

Schnoopy · 09/11/2020 00:05

I agree. Thank you to all teachers for everything that you're doing because I know it's been tough. The teachers at my DD's lower school have been utterly amazing from the day schools closed in March until present day. My dd is just so happy to be back in school surrounded by her teachers and friends again. Her school are doing everything they can to keep going, keep the kids and staff safe, and to try and make it as normal as possible for everybody.

(And as a side note, thank you OP for everything the NHS workers are doing. You're all amazing.)

BackforGood · 09/11/2020 00:17

Absolutely - including TAs under a generic term I hope, and i'd like to add the staff in Nurseries too Flowers

Shieldingending · 09/11/2020 12:51

Thank you OP, I was expecting another teacher bashing thread So to read your post was heartwarming! I'm currently off school shielding again after an email last weds night but am doing some zoom sessions for children also shielding. We should all be supportive of each other at this time, and recognise that different professions have different pressures Thanks

This.

Thank you for all the nhs has done since March.

From another Covid patient (most likely picked up at school from a symptom free child, based in t and t) - though now 5.5 weeks on, and on that slow road to recovery now.

Tyzz · 09/11/2020 13:09

On behalf of my DS who is a teacher, thank you.
It's disheartening to see nothing but negatives about teachers everywhere but particularly on MN.
I have only seen my son at a distance since September because I am ECV and he teaches older teenagers so feels he can't risk visiting me.

Vaccine hope as well makes me think I'll be able to hug him again sometime in the not too distant future.

Stellaris22 · 09/11/2020 13:51

What a lovely thread!

Would like to add my thanks to all teachers. Teachers (and other support staff) at DDs primary have been so caring and amazing. Thank you to all teachers!!

ExpulsoCorona · 11/11/2020 16:46

I would also like to add my thanks to all the teachers, TAs, admin staff, lunch supervisors, playground supervisors and every one involved in the running of schools. My children are really happy to be back.

OpheliasCrayon · 11/11/2020 17:57

Ah what a lovely thread to start :) much appreciated. I'm an SEN teacher and am very very happy to be in work but it's always nice to be thanked.
However I also have multiple chronic illnesses and need constant care from my doctors (and have done throughout the pandemic ...and will continue to!) So I massively appreciate everything the NHS is doing !! X
