Should we self isolate?

On Friday I felt awful - temperature, headache, short cough every so often & burning sensation in my lungs so I took a test - not had the results yet, had hoped to get them by now (or by Monday first thing at the latest)
Saturday and since I have felt fine ( altho did end up sleeping most of Sat) and wonder if it was just withdrawal symptoms as I had run out of my prescription meds.
Feel like a fraud if I don't go to work tomorrow due to "symptoms" just for one day of feeling bad as it will worry people unnecessarily plus ds will have to stay off college.
I know I/we should self isolate until i get the results just need someone to tell me that normal people would rather I did that than run any risks ...

Definitely self isolate. Its only until you get your results back (assuming they are negative) and am sure you will get them soon.

YankeeDad · 08/11/2020 17:05

Yes. Self-isolate.

TonkinLenkicks · 08/11/2020 17:05

Yes

MsAwesomeDragon · 08/11/2020 17:07

Yes self isolate please. You will hopefully have your results back soon so it may well only be one day of work that you miss, or maybe none at all if they come back negative tonight or first thing tomorrow.

InTheLongGrass · 08/11/2020 17:16

Yes, the whole household should isolate until you get your results.

Joditaylorfan · 08/11/2020 17:18

Another yes.

Brakebackcyclebot · 08/11/2020 17:19

Wait for your results!

bravefox · 08/11/2020 17:20

Shoe on the other foot, imagine going in to work and then halfway through the day finding out you actually tested positive. That'd be an awkward conversation with your employer!

beela · 08/11/2020 17:20

Yes of course. Can you imagine the conversation you will have to have with your employer in Tuesday if they do come back positive but you were there all day on Monday?

Cornettoninja · 08/11/2020 17:27

I would echo this.

Hopefully your results are with you soon and you can have a definite plan to follow. It’s worth knowing that test results can come through at odd times. I’ve had two for my dd and one came through about 6am and the other in the middle of the night so hopefully you won’t have to wait much longer.

BoulangerieBabs · 08/11/2020 17:29

Someone at work came in, hadn't told anyone they'd had a test, got the results whilst at work, had to tell the boss.

I'll let you imagine how the conversation went and how loud the boss was yelling I wasn't really listening in the next office ...

MimosaFields · 08/11/2020 17:33

Definitely. You could potentially endanger your colleagues life otherwise. Isolate and by Tuesday you'll be sure!

QueenStromba · 08/11/2020 17:36

I think you should get a train down the length of the country, stay overnight, interact with a load of colleagues and strangers them if you test positive just get back on the train for six hours.

mamaoffourdc · 08/11/2020 17:43

Isolate until you get your results! Why do people find this so hard to understand!! Ffs

ConnellWaldron · 08/11/2020 17:53

Flipping heck. How many times? Yes, whole household self isolates. I get it's a pain and we're programmed to just go to work unless properly unwell but come on! Also, why ask Mumsnet? Why not just look up guidance and do it? This is infuriating.
