Advice on self isolation

My ds has been informed that he has a case of Covid at his school on Friday. He is in year 8. We have had a email from the school telling us they must stay at home on Monday until they work out who needs to self isolate. My ds wants to meet up for exercise with a mate but I’m not sure they should. They are both in the same year at school. We haven’t been told he needs to isolate but may do on Monday??

He needs to isolate until you know for sure.

He should morally isolate. My dd had the same issue and stayed in till we had notification. I would keep him in, or at least give the other parent of the child he wants to meet the choice

What the first poster said.

My one teen is on his third period of self isolation now due to school cases.

Thank you that my instinct but we haven’t been formally told to and I no many of his friends are not isolating until told to. I can’t understand why it is taking 3 days to decide?

It took 3 days for our school to notify us too, but my 16 year old isolated from the minute she knew her friend was positive
