Isolate for 8 days??

DH has had an overnight alert on the NHS app to isolate for 8 days.

Any idea why it would be 8 rather than 10 or 14? Definitely NOT wanting extra days just seems strange!

They must have worked out the point he came into contact with the infected person and it must have been 6 days ago making it 14 days in total

I had one Saturday for 8 days so am assuming the contact was the previous Sunday.

She would have had contact with the infected person around six days ago. Then it’s dependent on how long it takes for that person to get symptom, book/get a test, get results and input them etc.

Thanks. He's been on the phone to work and is wfh this week. Do they text or anything too pr just app notification?
