Negative test result text

I've received my daughters test results by text message.. Do they normally follow up by email as well. I chased up her results as I needed to know if I'm off work tomorrow or not.. Lady on phone said even if she's tested negative I should still keep her off for 10 days!!! Nursery said she's allowed back in if she tests negative. Is the text message sufficient enough to show them as well as the test receipt card? I've not received an email yet.

Lady on phone said even if she's tested negative I should still keep her off for 10 days!!!

Did she have symptoms or was she a contact?

The text should be good enough for nursery, but an email should follow.

She had a temperature on Friday which is why I took her but since then no temperature or any other symptoms.. Her nursery said as long as she didn't have the temperature and the negative test results she could come back in..

The lady on the phone is wrong then. She can go back as soon as she is well enough to be there.

Nursery are correct and the text message should be enough proof.

We only got a text message. Our message says if negative and no temperature for 48 hours you can return to school/work.

@PurpleDaisies that's what I thought too.. I'd never send DD in if she had symptoms but I'm not wasting 300 pounds in nursery fees if she's actually fine with no symptoms at all!

The lady on the phone was wrong imho. Maybe she misunderstood your situation and thought there was a person in your household who was positive?

I did get an email too when I’ve tested dd but I think that was slower and I screenshotted the text and sent that as an image to my occupational health dept. and dd’s school.

How worrying that the lady on the phone gave incorrect information! Did the text message say isolation is not required?

Pebbledashery · 08/11/2020 10:30

@roses2 I know.. I thought that. DD has no symptoms now. Still waiting for the text so not sure what it says.

I'm confused. In your first post it says you received a text with the result but now email but in your last post you say you are waiting for the text. Which is it?

Pebbledashery · 08/11/2020 21:05

Sorry I meant I was waiting for the email.. Which I now have as well as text.. I was distracted when I was typing that.. I'm a single mum to a toddler I can be forgiven. Off to nursery in the morning :)

Any chance you made an error in the email address when inputting? I got my email & text at the exact same time..
