Nhs track and trace app

I've just had a notification come through for me to self isolate for 9 days as I have been in close contact with a positive case. I am absolutely baffled by this. I only go out to do school and nursery runs and pop to Tesco. The app says I have been in contact with someone for 15 mins or more less than 2m apart when I know I haven't. Not sure how this has happened really

Can you call someone to check?

MonicaGellerBing · 07/11/2020 16:19

Who do you mean? Track and trace?

I got one today to isolate for 11 days.... 🙈 my manager tested positive, so know who it is. Must be frustrating if you don't...

A nursery worker maybe? I'm in education and I think asymptotic kids are taking us all out!

loutypips · 07/11/2020 16:23

Could it have been a parent at school or someone in the supermarket? I suppose it can't tell if someone is on the other side of the aisle, and if they/you were following the same route could class that as close contact.

MaidenMotherCrone · 07/11/2020 16:23

It's Test and Trace.

AcceptanceIsBliss · 07/11/2020 16:25

What about standing in a long queue? Let's face it, most of the time we are not 2m away from people. It's impossible to be and most of the shops stopped limiting how many people went in until the second lockdown happened!

bestbefore · 07/11/2020 16:27

The app says to call 111 if you're not sure faq.covid19.nhs.uk/article/KA-01130/en-us?parentid=CAT-01033&rootid=CAT-01032

CherryPavlova · 07/11/2020 16:30

For clarity the track and trace is Serco and Deloitte, not NHS. Any failings are not NHS failings.

Where were you on Monday?
dementedpixie · 07/11/2020 16:32

It means your phone has been close enough to another phone with the app for the required amount of time to register as a close contact. Means your contact was about 5 days ago

MonicaGellerBing · 07/11/2020 16:34

Monday I did school pick up that's it. I don't talk to anyone there as it's a new school and I don't know anyone there yet and I keep clear of everyone! And I didn't go to Tesco.

Could it be just standing near someone at school then? I didn't think I was in close contact and I don't stand there for 15 mins I sit in my car until the kids start coming out. I literally have no idea where this could have come from

Oh I've just remembered I took the kids to McDonald's and the drive thru was shut so we had to go inside. That'll be it then. Tho I didn't sit near anyone. Ok mystery solved

I got one today too, isolate for 8 days. Was in Zizzis Sunday so maybe there but didnt think that near anyone (unknown) for requisite time.

MonicaGellerBing · 08/11/2020 11:04

@Wilma55 I wasn't near anyone in McDonald's either! Certainly not for 15 mins and 2m or less distance. Makes you wonder how reliable it is
