To think society is on edge

Maybe it’s just me or just in London. But it seems like all I’m seeing on social media is people getting into violent altercations. Last night for example my feed was full of youths in Hackney firing fireworks at police for no particular reason.

A lot of this was before the second lockdown but the lockdown seems to have exacerbated it.

In my deprived part of London I cannot describe the feeling but it feels like things are slowly breaking down. I wouldn’t be surprised if we have disorder by Xmas.

I didn’t feel this way in April/March.

We're not in lockdown. People are free to come and go as they please. They just can't go to the pub.

Haven't you noticed that we CAN'T come and go as we please? It's against the law to have someone over for a cuppa fgs!
We can't meet, mingle, dance together, hug, even see others faces properly in public. We can't make new friends or meet people we might want to have a relationship with.
We're being separated to a hugely unnatural degree and it's utterly predictable (looking at sociological and psychological evidence) that this will lead to problems.

It would be unusual to have disorder in cold weather. The weather is the best policeman!

And Christmas will raise a bit of cheer. If there's going to be trouble, I'd expect it if we are still in this mess at Easter.

Humans are social animals and don't do well when told don't go out And meet people. Last lockdown it was good weather do people could use gardens or parks but this time it is wet and miserable.

OP yes. I live in a deprived, urban area and I feel similar. Just so much more road rage as well. Things can be tense anyway in poor areas, more deprivation = recipe for disaster!!

This is what happens when they shut the pubs. People don't know what to do with themselves, so they piss about in the street instead on protests.

Funny, how tall the unrest and protests in the summer stopped when the pubs opened back up.
