Any sign of a lockdown round your way? Cos there isn’t one here.

I’m in England. This morning the school run was the usual massive slog through traffic. Not just other school run parents, lots of people who looked like they were driving to work. Taxis. Full buses. Not one tiny bit quieter. At lunchtime I went for a prescription and town was bustling. People chatting in groups. Town has lots of shops like Poundland, the Range, B&M - all packed. No cafes but groups of teens from the secondary schools and uni sat on walls and steps in the square having lunch. Tonight - fireworks at the neighbours where a group are having a bonfire gathering - maybe 8? My kids were in school today in large so-called bubbles of several hundred each.

This isn’t going to work.

So when there’s a harder stricter lockdown people will wonder why and moan about that. People are taking the piss quite frankly and the ones who say the rules aren’t clear are just looking for ways to not understand. It really isn’t rocket science. Dare I say it but there’s a good few ppl who could do with getting this virus and getting very ill from it or seeing loved ones die before they take it seriously. The selfishness is staggering

The thing is, they've used widely discredited data to offer us a fear based scenario, rather than going with a more proportionate argument that people could have bought into more readily.

People are thinking for themselves, looking at all the information they have and doing their own risk assessments that also take in their financial situation, mental health etc.
This isn't another lockdown, this is more restrictions. A majority of people are making carefully considered decisions within what they are completely at liberty to do anyway.

So you were out as well ‘observing all this’....? Adding to the rush hour, adding to the people in town? eye roll

People still need to work...and therefore need to commute. Some business sacrificed before by closing and using furlough but furlough doesn’t cover everything. Rents, rates and bills still need to be paid.

For the sake of yourself please get outside of your own world and the narrow minded viewpoint that a lockdown is good thing.

How are people taking the piss? Or are we back to some policing what is essential or not?

And the last comment is staggering beyond words.

Yes but the OPs reasons trump anyone elses reasons even if they were the same, they went at lunchtime wondering why everyone else was doing the same thing.

@GuyFawkesHadTheRightIdea

Normal day here and so many fireworks tonight, starting at 5 and still going strong. Honestly I think it's a big eff you from the general public at large. We've had enough.
I think there was a Big Banger for Boris on Bonfire night

Certainly there was a lot more going off than ever.
