Not been Self Isolating!

stillfeelingmad · 04/11/2020 18:44

I've just been notified by the NHS app that I need to self isolate, it says 8 days remaining of isolation so I can only assume the 'exposure' was approx 6 days ago.
Trouble is during that time I've been to the shops, twice to the gym, to visit an elderly relative and to the hairdresser.

Very worried now that I may have been putting people at risk but I've been back and checked through my notifications and there is nothing there.

The last notification from the app is last week saying "we have assessed and verified the exposure and you do not need to take any action"

Has anyone else had this? Did it take them nearly a week to contact trace the person and that's why I'm getting this now I wonder?

To be clear I will be self isolating from now on but not much I can do about all the (legal and within the guidelines) stuff I've done so far

Don’t worry about it it’s not your fault. Just do the rest of the isolation and that’s the best you can do. sometimes they don’t track you on it until some days in as it can take a while for someone to get a test then results so it may actually be the first time they have tried to notify you.

Don't worry my son was contacted to self Isolate, 6 days into the time he needed to isolate for. Same with someone else I know.. Agreed, it can take a while for the test results to come back etc. x

Yes my dm got a 6 day countdown yesterday.

Thanks all it's just frustrating that I've been out and about and adding to the risk unknowingly! Ah well it's lockdown now anyway, nowhere to go 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is one of the reasons why we need the lockdown. We need to break the chains of transmission. And there where no chance for that when people were wondering in shops, sitting in resturants, going to hairdressers, gyms and friend's and relatives' houses.

picklemewalnuts · 04/11/2020 21:36

Son had the same. Only saw the notification when it was 5 days left.

Tiredmummyof3 · 04/11/2020 21:39

Where do you see all your notifications? My app keeps flashing like it has a notification but then there is nothing there? Doesn't seem to be anywhere I can read anything??

I think that they are taking a while with the whole app and trace and trace, anyone I know whose been contacted has been a number of days later!

Hope you're ok and don't start with symptoms.

stillfeelingmad · 05/11/2020 07:41

Thanks @Tiredmummyof3 I actually did have it earlier in the year but with the query around how long immunity lasts could pass it on I assume.

I've been at home since I saw it and will remain at home for isolation period. After that it will only be the food shop anyway now and dropping off food for the relative who can't get her own because of a postponed hip operation. Hopefully we can get a bit better at tracking and tracing while we're under this lockdown!
