Ah, I've just seen the response about the shares.

Totally normal and above board then. Why do people try and find a conspiracy where there is none?

Seriously, imagine how many people in the world right now would have to be paid off or kept quiet (when we have access to social media)....Doctor’s, nurses, funeral directors, church ministers, care home staff. Hmm

CuriousaboutSamphire · 03/11/2020 16:09

@wheresmymojo he does hold a lot of shares in GlaxoSmithKline

www.expressandstar.com/news/uk-news/2020/09/24/no-conflict-of-interest-in-vallance-holding-vaccine-company-shares-hancock/

All of his finances were reported at the time, no secrtes or illegalities here. Until some meeja hacks had a go at it and caught Hancock on the hop... for not knowing soemthing he had no reason to know!

There's a whole thread on it somewhere

GhostTypeEevee · 03/11/2020 16:09

@wheresmymojo

They are still in the mandatory holding period and he's been upfront about having them.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 03/11/2020 16:09

@LEELULUMPKIN

Why is Rhyl getting so much hate?
Sorry. I now an epidemiologist in Rhyll. We have had a few discussions about how he would do things differently Grin
CuriousaboutSamphire · 03/11/2020 16:12

And apologies for that erroneous second 'l' that seems to have crept in!

I'm trying to think how you'd say that!!!!

MarshaBradyo · 03/11/2020 16:18

@CuriousaboutSamphire

Oh, Christmas and hugs, tell us the impossible! FFS!

"I have said repeatedly" he says, repeatedly!

I want to go back to listening but I find the MPs excruciating
WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 03/11/2020 16:20

@lovelemoncurd

At that level their job also becomes political.
No, no it doesn't. They advise, the Govt needs to make the decisions & own those decisions.
WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 03/11/2020 16:21

@JovialNickname

Interesting line of questioning by Jeremy Hunt.
He's a smug point scoring git.
CuriousaboutSamphire · 03/11/2020 16:23

Do you include anecdata in your tables?

What does god think?

No, we won't micromanage... go away!

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 03/11/2020 16:24

I want to go back to listening but I find the MPs excruciating

I’m sure the last one of these I watched wasn’t this bad.

MarshaBradyo · 03/11/2020 16:26

@RafaIsTheKingOfClay

I want to go back to listening but I find the MPs excruciating

I’m sure the last one of these I watched wasn’t this bad.

They’re trying to catch them out, it’s embarrassing.

And they answer so well. Just shows level of precision over language.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 03/11/2020 16:28

We STILL WON'T MICROMANAGE..... STOP IT!!!

Go talk to the politicians. They make the decisions on playgrounds etc.

COMMENTARIANS??? Is that a real word???

And could he just stop with the weird persistance on them saying they will do something they don't?!?!?!

And again he repeats himself... no... that way disaster lies, sod off!

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 03/11/2020 16:29

That’s exactly it., Marsha.

It’s much more about them trying to find some support for their viewpoint than trying to learn more to make a decision.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 03/11/2020 16:31

How can MPs influence this if it's too late...

Ask those who do influence and make the decisions. But it ain't us!

Ah, MP Patel is going to be more genteel... oh! I've lost track of what he was asking. Oh, measures after lockdown. ONS JVC infection rates contact rates and then on to hosiptal admissions and deaths - the lagged data.

I think that returns us to the beginning of the session doesn't it?

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 03/11/2020 16:32

I wish these things were common knowledge in advance, I did see it as I happened to have the bbc news on, but could easily have missed it.

They're both SO able to hold their tongues. Better then than me!! I don't suffer fools gladly or otherwise.

But yes, Witty does look exhausted (unsurprisingly)

averythinline · 03/11/2020 16:33

I cannot believe j *unt has the absolute front to say anything about health stuff after the damage he did to the NHS 6 years he was in charge he didn't leave until 2018 a lot of the lack of resources is down to him....

CuriousaboutSamphire · 03/11/2020 16:35

What if what if what if what if what if....

...

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 03/11/2020 16:35

What sort of a stupid question is that about R from the chair?

CuriousaboutSamphire · 03/11/2020 16:36

One that is getting short shrift Smile

Such emphasis on the word sensible in reply!

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 03/11/2020 16:36

Oh God, we’ve already covered this haven’t we?

R being above 1 just pushes the problem back in time.

AcornAutumn · 03/11/2020 16:36

@DGRossetti

Tank fly, Boss walk, Jam Nitty Gritty You’re listening to advice from Professor Chris Whitty..
This is damn rot
ajandjjmum · 03/11/2020 16:37

I suspect that Jeremy Hunt is pretty pissed off not to be heading up the Dept of Health, having done so for a number of years. Maybe Matt Hancock also wishes JH was back in that position!

CuriousaboutSamphire · 03/11/2020 16:38

Not speculating we just want to know what will happen in December before we vote on it!

OMG!

And again he repeats himself, politely! And offers up a scenario, stressing its theoretical.. and says that ministers will make decisions based on the data, not the plausible scenarios they could invent!

Derelictwreck · 03/11/2020 16:38

@lovelemoncurd

At that level their job also becomes political.
Of course it doesn't. Their jobs and the holders aren't allowed to be partisan. They are required to be neutral. They aren't politicians.
AcornAutumn · 03/11/2020 16:40

This is a good thing to keep an eye on to find out about these meetings
