No essential travel etc.

Were in a bubble with MIL who is a widow living alone.

O know this is probably a stupid qn, but does it matter who visits whom? She usually comes to us in a car but o really need an empty house on two weeks so was going to send DH and the 3 kids to hers in a cab.

No it doesn't matter which house you see her in as long as you're only seeing each other.
